New Gwanghwamun Square

The current state of Gwanghwamun Square holds paramount significance within the geographical and historical context of Seoul, South Korea. The spatial design of this locale serves as an exemplary manifestation of Confucian principles. However, its present form and spatial arrangement within the urban fabric are outcomes of a nuanced historical evolution in Korea. Our objective was to conserve its architectural and historical uniqueness while cultivating an aesthetically pleasing environment that could function as a vibrant hub for public life. This endeavour aligns with our vision for Seoul's future, emphasizing pedestrian spaces and venues for public events as pivotal components in the square's organizational framework.
